OpenType is is a cross-platform font file format that Adobe and Microsoft collaborated together to form. Adobe converted their entire Adobe Type Library into this format, by doing this it now offers thousands of OpenType fonts.
Font families are font styles which share the same style and consist of the same characters. The changes that occur in a font family is just the format like changing the font to be bolder.
A glyph can be an alphabetic or numeric font or also can be other symbol that pictures an encoded character.
When looking at the term dfont I was a little confused at what the term ment, after researching and finfing out that they are systems fonts it began to make sence to me.Mac system fonts such as Monaco, and Charcoal and OS X system fonts like Helvetica and Times Roman are referred to as dfonts.
Multiple Master fonts are usually customizable PostScrpt font which then give the designer multiple choices including weights, angles and widths of the same font.
When looking at licensing anything that is not yours you have to get permittion to use
File naming should be done like Ohmes_notepad.ind
Formats that can cross, anything is able to be placed into indesign
